Ivykit's Apprentice Ceremony « Thread Started on Jul 5, 2008, 6:57am »
Thunderstar was pacing in his den. He had been thinking about his whole Clan for some time now, and yet still there was this niggling feeling that he was missing something. Suddenly, Thunderstar crashed into the wall of his den, and remembered what had been bothering him. Ivykit needed an apprentice ceremony! And who to mentor....Thunderstar mused. Then he grinned, a small, private grin. It's been a while since I last mentored a kit. And who better to mentor one than the leader? Thunderstar took a deep breath, then released it. He was now sufficiantly calm, and composed enough to appear outside to his Clan. He slipped outside the den, and onto the High-Ledge of the willow tree. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather before the High-Ledge for a Clan meeting!" Thunderstar yowled, and then waited.
Ivykit padded out opf the nursery. Her green eyes were soft as they gazed up at the leader. Her curiousity wasn't strong as she knew he probabuly hadden't remembered her ceremony.Shaking off the thought she sat down and wrapped her stripped tail around her paws.
Thunderstar gazed down at the clearing, and smiled as the cats filed in. "The time has come to annoint a new apprentice. Ivykit has reached the age of six moons, and is ready to begin her training to be a warrior!" He glanced down at the kit. "Until she has completed her warrior training, and earned her warrior name, she will be known as Ivypaw!" Thunderstar paused, and allowed for the Clan to express their excitement and joy, and then continued, "Long has it been since I took an apprentice, and I am proud to say that the long period of un-mentorship shall end. I will mentor Ivypaw!" The brilliant ginger tom leapt down from the High-Ledge, and padded towards his apprentice. "As leader of RiverClan, I acknowledge the need for new warriors, and I swear upon my honor as a warrior of RiverClan that I will teach this young kit everything I know. I greet you, Ivypaw of RiverClan," Thunderstar said, and then bowed his head to touch noses.
